Somalia the other
side of the world

Somalia, The forgotten nation. Since the black hawk was shot
down and the marines dragged in the streets of Mogadishu,
the world opted to ignore the plight of the Somalis their
suffering and the ongoing indiscriminate killing of innocent
civilians, the use of big machine guns as well as the
arranged displacement of the residents. this year alone over
million people were internally displaced. There is a scant
mention of this humanitarian disaster. may be the united
nation is busy in Darfur case yet not ready to solve it i
don't know why they exaggerate on this matter while the
Sudanese Government is trying all means possible to
negotiate with the rebels there. Despite the peace Mogadishu
witnessed during the six months controlled by the Islamic
courts union it was not enough for the so-called "the
international community to accept this kind of situation in
Somalia and were ready to liberate the Somalis from peace
into a constant massacres as Ethiopia were given the green
ligt to invade Somalia under the cover of the united states
of America. The united nation wakes up late only to say "
the Somali situation is worst since 1991" then who is
responsible? the UNCHR, WHO and WFP are there only by name
and are watching the Somalis die for hunger cold and pullet
injuries. they claim that the field workers are targeted by
the Ethiopian forces based there! The human right watch and
the amnesty international failed to mention the direct and
the indirect involvement of the Ethiopian government of
violating human right in the occupied Somalia. " if they
want peace in Somalia they could have supported the I.C.U
politically and forced the T.N.G to talk to them very well
in the Khartoum peace process but that is what the
international community never wanted and instead the backed
the Ethiopians to wedge war in an already war torn place"
says a Mogadishu resident. "this happened when every Somali
felt that its the end of war as the warlords were swept out
of city" says another one. may be more Ethiopian soldiers
will be killed and dragged in the streets of Mogadishu but
it will never help the hundreds of thousands displaced since
December last year with no water, food and even shelter
particularly this time when the floods are around the corner
as the rainy season began to shade its water on their weak
houses made of tiny branches and pieces of clothes. For
Somalia its "running from the saucepan into the fire"
